Legend has it, from creditable sources, that Mary Laughery is a full-blooded Abenaki Indian. However, research on Federal Census Reports for 1880 show that her parents are from Ireland. A few of us have been spending considerable energy on this mystery, but have yet to substantiate either theory. So we'll keep working on it!!

Mary Conn: Age 46, keeping house, Father born in Ireland, Mother born in Ireland.
Children shown are: Annie, Charles, and Sarah

James Conn: 1900 Census shows James Conn working as a day laborer. Lived in Brunswick, VT. His occupation was riverdriver and farmer. Cause of death was senility arteriosclerosis.

Bridget Conn: Residence at time of marriage - Stratford, NH. Bridget Conn Dexter was 1/2 Abenaki Indian - her mother was full blooded Abenaki. Buried in Catholic Cemetary, Berlin, NH. On June 4, 1881 William [middle initial looks like C] Dexter, resident of Stratford NH, age 23, occupation millman, place of birth Alton ME, parents Loren Dexter and Emma Jackson married Bridget Conn, resident of Stratford, age 18, place of birth St Sylvester PQ, parents Lewis and Mary [Laughery] Conn married in Bloomfield VT by Moses Pattee, Minister of the Gospel. 1880 Census shows Bridget living as a servant in the Merriam household in N. Stratford, Coos County, New Hampshire-She was 17.

Catherine (Kate) Conn: 1880 Census shows "Kate" age 15 working as a servant in the Perry House (a boarding house) in Stratford, NH. 1900 Census shows "Kate" Conn and Joseph Gaynor living in Northumberland, Coos, NH. Living with them were George their son and Sadie (Kate's daughter from 1st husband) Shows Kate as a servant.

Charles Conn: Possible info on Charles Conn: From 1900 Census - was living as a boarder in Essex County, Victory Town, VT. Born January 1869 in NH, parents both born in Canada - Working as a laborer at a swmill.
